Assignment 3-2

The final design is a quill pen and ink well combination set, made to look like a life-size Japanese rhinoceros beetle. In short, it's epic. These technical drawings here show just how such a magnificent piece of machinery might work.

The prototype is made from papier mache, and is fully functional. Ideally, it would be made from cast metal. Zinc, perhaps, for good details?

This is a pen for those who would aspire to have cabinets of curiosity. It is made to look lovely and strange on one's desk when not in use, and presumably fit in with one's other exotic decor. It is to be a thing of mystery and beauty.
