Alexander McQueen's Fall 2008 collection was a work of genius. The look shown here was one of my favourites from the collection. Why do I love it so?
- Fine tailoring is an art. I appreciate and admire those who do it well.
- I have a long-standing love for Indian jewelry.
- Head ornaments are under-appreciated. They go so beautifully with the clothes from this collection. I vote we bring them back.
- I'm fond of things that are luxurious and lush without being ostentatious.
- The cut is unusual, but clearly designed with the body in mind. Clothing should always be designed with a good understanding of the form it is to fit.
- The show was an immaculate fantasy world. If one is going to make impractical and fanciful clothing, I fully support going all out.
- If you read up on the show, there was a story line to it. I like the idea of telling a story in outfits.
- It reminds me of how in old movies representations of exotic lands were so elaborate and spectacular. They were by and large grossly inaccurate, but I love the exaggerated and imaginative version. I think the images we carry of things in our minds are often far better than the actual things.
- It feels epic.
- It stands defiantly against all of this modern and minimalist nonsense. I am in favour of ornament and frills.
